Teachers have designed some wonderful activities to supplement A Pinky Is A Baby Mouse. One project was a classroom book called Tell Me What's My Name based on the question in the book. On the front of a piece of paper, each child in the classroom wrote three or four sentences about themselves. For example:
I have brown hair.
I like to play soccer.
My favorite food is pizza.
I have been to Florida on vacation.
Tell me, what's my name?On the back of the paper, the children drew a picture of themselves (one teacher used Polaroid photos) and, of course, the answer...My name is ____________. The teacher participated and made her own page, as well as the principal, janitor, school secretary, reading teacher, and librarian!
The book was spiral bound and put in the library corner. The children read it over and over again, even though they knew all the pages by heart!
